Gospel to Haiti is a Christian, non-profit outreach, focusing on the many needs of the Haitian people.
GTH makes its home near Yuba, Wisconsin, as a part of Gospel Light Christian Fellowship, a conservative Bible believing church.
.......Gospel to Haiti’s mission is to reach souls that need to know about Jesus.
.......We are working in the southern part of Haiti in an area called Allegre, nearby the town of Les Palmes.
.......Allegre can only be reached by traveling on a rugged and rocky trail that winds up, over, and around several mountains. Like the rest of the country, this area has many needs, both physical and spiritual. Witch doctors are a very real part of many lives but thanks to the blood of Jesus that changes hearts, the needs of the Christians are not as great as those in bondage to voodoo and witch doctors.
…….Another major point of focus is the clinic in the Allegre area that cares for the physical needs of the people. Because there is very little medical help available in the area, the clinic has been able to help many sick and the natives are very grateful for it. By showing compassion to them and their children in a natural way, it gives an opportunity to minister to their spiritual needs as well.
Some information about Haiti
.......The Republic of Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. It shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic.
.......In the 1700’s Haiti was ruled by France. At the time, they had some of the most prosperous spice and coffee plantations in the Caribbean. They had brought slaves over from Africa to work on the plantations, but after years of discontent, the slaves revolted. After a long fight, in 1804 Haiti became the first Negro republic.
.......The United States has an average of 79 persons per square mile. The State of Wisconsin has 101, Pennsylvania: 270, Wyoming: 5, New York: 407. To put things into perspective, Haiti is about ¼ the size of Pennsylvania. Statistical sources vary, but literacy is about 50%. The amount of doctors in the country are around 2,000; or about 1 doctor for every 4,500 persons. The average life expectancy is 53 years.
One of our desires is to teach native pastors more truths in God’s Word,, This requires numerous pastors traveling to Haiti various times throughout the year, Teaching at Allegre and other outlying churches., The only way to reach these remote churches is by hiking several hours on narrow hilly trails, often using mules to carry supplies. What a privilege to teach those that want to learn more of our mighty God.
.......Our efforts in Haiti are focused on helping many to realize their need of Jesus. By the prayers and support of those that have interest in this effort, we are able to disciple pastors, help the sick, and teach in the schools. Through these avenues we are able to reach into lives that need Him.
.......Our vision is to raise up a generation of godly men and women by preaching the whole Word of God and by providing them with the best quality of Christian education possible.
.......We desire to train the Haitians to be well equipped to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of their own people, as they follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ.
.......We long to see strong Christian churches rise up with a burden to show the people of Haiti the power of God, love, and holiness in their lives. Jesus can free them from the power of satan and grips of fear voodoo has them in bondage to.
In summary, Gospel to Haiti's mission is primarily a three-fold work, consisting of...
1. The teaching and example of Christ among the native churches
2. The Schools
3. The Medical Clinic
Here is something for you to think about as you look around our site:
What if Jesus really meant everything he said?
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."
